Puerto Banús is located on the Costa del Sol between Marbella and San Pedro de Alcantara. Malaga Airport is 59 km from Puerto Banús. 28 different UK airports offer direct flights to Malaga. British Airways flies from Gatwick and Heathrow. Pick up point for transfers is the arrivals lounge of terminal 3. It is also possible to fly to Gibraltar Airport – just 66km from Puerto Banús with daily flights from EasyJet out of London Gatwick and from British Airways out of London Heathrow.
Town
Puerto Banús is located six kilometres to the south of Marbella. The focal point is its marina with close to 1,000 berths. Puerto Banús is known as Costa del Sol’s playground for the rich and wealthy who come here for the beaches, the beach clubs and the buzzing nightlife. The shops and restaurants reflect this expensive lifestyle, with plenty of designer names on offer around the marina.
Beaches
Puerto Banús has four main beaches: Artola Brach, Nueva Andalucia, El Ancon and Rio Verde. It also has a number of beach clubs, of which the best known are the Ocean Club, La Sala Beach Club, Mistral Beach Club and Soul Beach. Nueva Andalucia and Rio Verde have both been recognised by the European Union for their excellent facilities and high standards of cleanliness.

Puerto Banús is located in the heart of the “Costa del Golf” with an abundance of golf courses. The Monte Paraiso resort lies to the north-east of the resort close to Marbella while keen golfing enthusiast can also play at Golf La Dama de Noche, Aloha Golf Club, Las Brisas Golf and the Las Naranjas Golf Club.
History
Puerto Banús is located in the Nueva Andalucia suburb of Marbella, 6km to the west of the town centre, just before you reach the small town of San Pedro de Alcantara. Although it may at first appear as a developed old Spanish fishing village with an impressive mountain backdrop, Puerto Banús was in fact designed and built in 1970 by local property developer José Banús as a luxury marina and shopping complex.
