Soldeu Tourist Information
Soldeu is lovely in the summer, but truly comes into it’s own during the winter months.
Soldeu is part of the Grand Valira ski area and is the largest in the Pyrenees with 205 km (127 mi) of pistes.
The Sunday Times say that Soldeu is one of the three best budget ski resorts in Europe. The ski area links to Encamp, Canillo, El Tarter, Grau Roig, Pas de la Casa, and Porte des Neiges.
The Soldeu Ski School has a large number of native English speaking instructors and has won awards for the quality of its tuition.
Ou transfers go up to Soldeu village, which sits at 1,710 metres (5,610 ft) and the lifts go up to 2,580 m (8,465 ft). From Soldeu town you can take the gondola up to 2,250 m (7,382 ft), where the ski and board schools, as well as restaurants are located. From there, it is possible to ski to the top of the El Tarter gondola, or the village of El Tarter itself, via the blue-rated ‘gall de bosc’ run.
The village is a hive of activity with lots of hotels, bars and restaurants. Soldeu is great for families, individuals and couples alike.
The native language is Catalan. And like many of the resorts in Andorra it attracts mostly Spanish, French, English and Irish visitors.
